Welcome Message
Welcome to the Terry B. Rogers College of Education and Social Sciences at West Texas A&M University. We are a student-centered community of learners and scholars who foster an environment where trust is inspired, communication and collaboration are encouraged, academic freedom is valued, and innovation prevails. Through technology-rich and academically rigorous undergraduate, graduate, post-graduate, and professional programs, we prepare education and social science professionals who excel academically, are ethical and reflective in practice, and are committed to societal advancement through leadership, service, and education.
The Terry B. Rogers College of Education and Social Sciences offers bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees and professional certifications. Our college consists of three departments. The Department of Education, the Department of Political Science and Criminal Justice, and the Department of Psychology, Sociology, and Social Work.
Guided by the democratic purposes of American education, the mission of the Department of Education is to prepare professional educators who are confident, skilled, and reflective critical thinkers, effective communicators, advocates of diverse learners, users of technology, life-long learners, and stewards of the profession. The Department of Political Science and Criminal Justice serves students who want to examine important questions and significant issues facing contemporary society, and the Department of Psychology, Sociology, and Social Work is a student-centered department committed to helping students explore, discover, and pursue interests, talents, and abilities in the real world.
We are committed to excellence and are excited to welcome you to the college as a valued member of our student-centered community of learners and scholars! We invite you to explore our website and reach out to any members of our faculty or staff if you need assistance or answers to any questions.
