Professional Profile

Dawn Marie Jordan joined the Department of Political Science and Criminal Justice in 2015 as a part-time instructor and full-time in 2016. She received a B.S. in Sociology with emphasis in Criminal Justice and Psychology from Eastern New Mexico University in 1991 and M.A. in Criminal Justice from Texas A&M University in 2011.  Dawn Marie is retired from the State of Texas Parole Division. She has been teaching criminal justice at the college level since 2012

Mrs. Jordan teaches Introduction to Criminal Justice, Drugs, Society and Criminal Justice, Community Corrections, Organized Crime, Crime in America, Introduction to Courts, Introduction to Criminal Investigations, Introduction to Law, Women and Criminal Justice, Correctional Systems and Practices, Criminal Justice Internship, Serial Killers, and Human Trafficking.

Advisor of the Criminal Justice Association since 2016.

Research and Creative Activity

Dawn Marie’s research interests include gender studies, drugs, organized crime, specifically the mob, and gangs.
