Welcome

Are you interested in a career in emergency medical services, firefighting, homeland security, or emergency management but don't know where to start? Or are you ready to start on your career path? A degree in emergency management administration (EMA) opens up a world of opportunities. Our graduates are employed in high-earning positions in a variety of fields and in both the private and public sectors. Within Texas, almost 200,000 Texans work in emergency management-related fields.

The Emergency Management Administration B.A./B.S. degree is a traditional undergraduate degree that can be completed on campus or 100% online.

Do you think EMA might be a good fit for you? We're here to help you achieve your goals and aspirations. For additional information, contact Dr. Justin Moeller (jmoeller@wtamu.edu).

EMA B.A./B.S. vs. BAAS

The EMA program offers three distinct degrees. The Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) and the Bachelor of Science (B.S.) are traditional undergraduate degrees. The B.A./BS. degree plans do not expect previous EMA experience or current employment in any emergency management-related field. The Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences (BAAS) requires students to have vocational, technical, or military training/coursework prior to entering the program. Most students enrolled in the BAAS degree program are practitioners and actively engaged in the field. The B.A./BS. does not award credit for existing vocational, technical, or military training/coursework.
