Kevin Wingard
Kevin Wingard is in his 19th year as superintendent of Milford Public Schools in Milford, Nebraska. Milford is a growing rural community of 2,200 residents and a large population of acreages/farms located just west of Lincoln, the state’s capital. Milford Public Schools has 810 students PK-12 and just over 100 full and part time staff members. Mr. Wingard believes strongly in the school theme “Everyone has a story…Make yours worth telling.” Milford has a 98% graduation rate and nearly 90% of high school students participate in an extracurricular school activity.
Mr. Wingard has been a Nebraska public school educator for 30 years serving as an elementary teacher, PK-12 principal and a superintendent. He has served as chair of the Nebraska Council of School Administrators, was the Nebraska Rural Community Schools Association Outstanding Superintendent of the Year for 2022-23, and was selected as the Nebraska Association of School Administrators Region I Superintendent of the Year two times during his tenure at Milford Public Schools. He attended Doane College for his Bachelor of Arts degree, and he obtained his master of education and education specialist degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He and his wife Becky have 3 children, two of which are working for public school systems in Nebraska.
