Admission to EPP
All students who are seeking a bachelor's degree with teacher certification must apply to the Educator Preparation Program (EPP) after completing at least 54 hours of courses and filing an official degree plan.
In order to be eligible to apply to the EPP:
- Students must have a 2.75 GPA
- Students must be TSI complete
Steps to apply to EPP:
- Create a TEAL Account (for TEA purposes)
- Go to https://tea.texas.gov
- Select ECOS for Educators
- Follow the directions to create a TEAL account
- Complete the EPP Online Application
- Be sure to complete the applicant interview and screening questions on the application
- Incomplete applications will not be accepted
Note: applicants may request a preliminary TEA background check for an opinion of charge prior to starting a program.
Registration for Education Coursework
Registration for all teacher education program courses involves students completing a petition form and receiving consent from the Office of Teacher Preparation and Support in Old Main, Room 415. Students must file a petition before online access is granted.
