Professional Profile
Dr. Makki Alamdari joined the Department of Sociology, Psychology, and Social Work in 2020. She received a B.S. in Civil Engineering and a Master’s of Sociology from her country, and a Master of Social Work and a Ph.D. in Social Work from Indiana University in 2019 and 2020, respectively. Dr. Makki Alamdari is an Assistant Professor of Social Work at WTAMU.
Teaching and Related Service
Dr. Makki Alamdari’s areas of focus within Social Work are human behavior in social environment, methods, statistics, social policy, personal growth, and community practice. Specifically, Dr. Makki Alamdari teaches Human Behavior in Social Environment, Human Behavior and Personal Adjustment, Social Research, Advanced Policy Analysis, and Community and Organizational Practice. .
Research and Creative Activity
Dr. Makki Alamdari’s research interests include social welfare, poverty, trauma and resilience, program evaluation, and refugee integration. Dr. Makki Alamdari has recently published in Advances in Social Work, Journal of Poverty, and Child Abuse & Neglect.
