Professional Profile

Ana Ibarra, LCSW joined the College of Education and Social Sciences in 2024. She received her B.A. in Social Work from West Texas A&M University in 2014 and a Master of Social Work with focus in Direct Practice of Family and Children from The University of Texas at Arlington in 2017. Ana has been licensed in the state of TX since 2018 (LMSW) and recently achieved licensure at the clinical level (LCSW).

Teaching and Related Service

Ana Ibarra teaches bachelor level courses and is the Field Liaison for the undergraduate program. Over her career, she has worked in our community as a case manager in mental health services for children and adults and has acquired extensive experience with crisis intervention. Ana has also served as a coordinator of social services for higher education students in the San Antonio area, where she established a Food Pantry and Scrubs closet for nursing students. Before joining WTAMU as full-time instructor, Ana worked as a Behavioral Health Lead Therapist at Northwest Texas Hospital and has also provided therapeutic services to college students at the Amarillo College Counseling Center. Ana Ibarra shares a focus and expertise in the mental health and clinical practice of social work.
