Professional Profile
Daniel Bhaskaran Raju joined the College of Engineering in 2021. He received B.S., degree in mechanical engineering from India and M.S., degree in engineering (Mechanical) from West Texas A&M University in 2003, and 2022, respectively.
Teaching and Related Service
Daniel Bhaskaran primarily instructs hands-on equipment education for all introduction to engineering courses as well as design classes in programs across the college. He supervises hands-on mechanical engineering laboratories at all undergraduate levels and coordinates the maintenance/repair of equipment in the following areas: electrical, materials, hydrodynamics, diesel and steam labs, and machine and welding shop.
Daniel is involved in lab prep and follow-up for selected machine/welding shop (i.e., cutting, milling, drilling, welding, and brazing). He supervises implementation of major projects and maintains inventory and trains student lab technicians to operate and maintain lab equipment. He has American welding society inspector and Nondestructive inspector certification.
Research and Creative Activity
Daniel's research interests include Non-destructive testing materials, welding techniques in oil and gas pipelines and alloy composition and critical temperatures in steel welds.
