Professional Profile
Dr. Jacobsen earned his Ph.D. in English at Texas A&M University in 1999. He joined the WTAMU faculty in 1999 and was promoted to associate professor in 2005. He received the WTAMU Teaching Excellence Award in 2001-2002.
Teaching and Related Service
Dr. Jacobsen teaches composition, literature and linguistics classes.
Research and Creative Activity
Dr. Jacobsen's book, Transformations of Literacy in Computer-Mediated Communication: Orality, Literacy, Cyberdiscursivity, published in 2002, focuses on the rhetorical challenges of cybercommunication.
His research interests are discourse analysis and rhetorical theory.
