Professional Profile
Dr. Price joined the Department of Sports and Exercise Sciences in 2013. He received a B.S. in Sports and Exercise Sciences from West Texas A&M University, a M.S. in Sports and Exercise Sciences with an emphasis in Sport Management from West Texas A&M University, and a Ph.D. in Sport Management with an emphasis in Athletic Administration from Troy University.
Teaching and Related Service
Dr. Price instructs a diverse range of undergraduate and graduate SES courses, including Foundations of Sports and Exercise Sciences, Sport Officiating, Administrative Concepts, Legal Aspects of Sport, and Facility Operations & Event Management. Beyond the classroom, he contributes to multiple university committees, serves as an alumni mentor for the Rogers LEAD WT program, and acts as the faculty advisor for both the WT Trap & Skeet Club and Future Leaders in SES.
Professionally, he maintains active memberships in organizations such as the North American Society for Sport Management and the Texas High School Coaches Association.
Research and Creative Activity
Dr. Price's research focuses on athletic policy, sports law, and the impact of sport tourism on community and economic development, with a focus on state-level cooperatives. Alongside his academic publications, he has co-authored multiple industry whitepapers and research reports. His recent collaboration with Dr. Michelle Bartlett — a comprehensive analysis of a local school district’s athletic department—was published in Case Studies in Sport and Performance Psychology.
