Professional Profile

Dr. Price joined the Department of Sports and Exercise Sciences in 2013. He received a B.S. in Sports and Exercise Sciences from West Texas A&M University in 2008, a M.S. in Sports and Exercise Sciences with an emphasis in Sport Management from West Texas A&M University in 2010 and a Ph.D. in Sport Management from Troy University in 2020.

Teaching and Related Service

Dr. Price teaches a variety of SES courses, including Foundations of Sport and Exercise Sciences, Principles of Instruction in Physical Activity, Instructional Methodologies for Youth, Sport Officiating, Theory and Practice of Non-Traditional Games, and Professional Issues in SES. He has also taught a freshman IDS course for incoming SES and athletic training majors. 

Dr. Price is a member of the North American Society for Sport Management, National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association, Sport and Recreation Law Association, Texas High School Coaches Association, and the Commission on Sport Management Accreditation.

Research and Creative Activity

Dr. Price’s research interests include interscholastic and intercollegiate athletic policy, athletic facility construction and management, and various legal issues in sport.

Personal Sketch

Dr. Price lives in Canyon with his wife Chelsey, a second grade teacher for the Canyon ISD. They spend most of their time chasing their two boys and their Great Dane. Dr. Price has a passion for the outdoors, spending a lot of his spare time hunting, playing golf, pitching washers, and rooting for the New York Yankees. He also enjoys attending WTAMU sporting events and helping on the family farm/ranch.
