Professional Profile
Dr. Ming Xie is an assistant professor of public administration and emergency management administration. She received her Ph.D. in Public Administration from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. She also received a Ph.D. in Cultural Anthropology from the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Beijing, China.
Teaching and Related Service
Dr. Xie teaches courses in the areas of Emergency Management and nonprofit Management, including Introduction to Emergency Management and Social Vulnerability, Municipal Government, and Directed Research in Emergency Management.
Research and Creative Activity
Dr. Xie's research focuses on emergency management and social vulnerability, nonprofit accountability, and intercultural communication.
Dr. Xie is a member of the Association for Research on Nonprofit Organization and Voluntary Action
Dr. Xie is a member of the International Society of the Third Sector Research
Dr. Xie is a member of the International Communication Association and National Communication Association
Dr. Xie has published peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters in the field of public administration, emergency management, and intercultural communication.
She always seeks opportunities for community engagement through her research projects, to enhance the community's capacity in emergency preparedness and community resilience.
