New Admitted Student Checklist
Welcome to West Texas A&M University! We are excited to welcome you to the Buff Family. In order to prepare you for your time at WT, we encourage you to complete the New Admitted Student Checklist. You can also go to your Admissions Student Portal for any other outstanding items.
ACCESS YOUR EMAIL ACCOUNT

All messages from the University will be emailed to your WT email address.

Go to wtamu.edu/activate or call 806-651-4357 to activate your account.
FUND YOUR EDUCATION
- Visit wtamu.edu/financialaid for help filing your FAFSA ( fafsa.gov) or any other financial aid questions.
- Visit wtamu.edu/scholarships to fill out the general scholarship application to apply for multiple scholarships at once.
REGISTER FOR ORIENTATION (NSO/TSO)
- Orientation is required for all new students to get acquainted with your new home.
APPLY FOR UNIVERSITY HOUSING

Full-time students (enrolled in 12 or more semester hours) under the age of 20 years (by the first class day) are required to live in University housing during the first (2) years following their high school graduation.

The housing requirement applies to new, transfer, relocating, and re-enrolling students.

Apply for housing at wtamu.edu/housing.
SEND YOUR OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS
- Have your official high school and any college transcripts sent to WTAMU.

UPDATE YOUR EMERGENCY CONTACT INFORMATION

TRANSFER STUDENTS: SEE YOUR ACADEMIC ADVISER

Once your admissions file is complete, including TSO, transfer students must meet with a transfer adviser to be advised and create a class schedule. Contact Advising Services at 806-651-5300.
