WTAMU financial advisers will be available to help you plan how to pay for college while minimizing your use of student loans. This way you have not only a plan but also peace of mind before you transfer.
Scholarships will be granted automatically, up to $3,000, once you have submitted your transcripts and completed the financial aid process. If you have 60 hours and a 3.5 GPA, your scholarship will be granted regardless of financial need.
If you have been inducted into Phi Theta Kappa, you will also receive a one-time $500 scholarship.
*New, part- and full-time transfer students only; must be a Texas resident. Scholarships require minimum of 30 completed transfer credit hours and 3.0 GPA. Financial aid application is required.
At most universities, transfer students enroll at the end of the line and might not get courses needed for that term. At WTAMU, you will enroll based on your earned classification (60+ hours classifies you as a junior) and that means you have the same opportunity as students already enrolled at the university.
Want to live on campus with the full university experience? You will have the option of living on a residence hall floor with other transfer students who understand your path to WTAMU.
When you live on campus for three semesters, you are eligible for a 50% discount on your fourth semester. Stay for a fifth and receive the same discount for the sixth semester.
If you are inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa honor society, you will be eligible to enter the Attebury Honors Program at WTAMU. The Attebury Honors Program provides a broad variety of special experiences and learning opportunities, as well as the option to live in Connor Hall, the University’s honors dorm.
Student Engagement, Leadership, and Success
Being involved in organizations to build your network and gain practical skills is important to your success both at your community college and at WTAMU. You will have opportunities to be involved in selected organizations BEFORE transferring to begin building that important network.
