We recognize the challenges facing incoming students in meeting ordinary admission requirements, including test scores. We are proceeding with flexibility and understanding for our 2021 incoming class.

Freshman Requirements: By the numbers, 71 percent of freshman applicants are admitted to West Texas A&M University. Your chances are excellent and we want you to make plans to attend this next year.

We  work to make the application process as smooth as possible. There are a few requirements applicants must meet:

  1. Obtain a minimum 2.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA). 
  2. Meet one of the following class rank and ACT/SAT requirements:

Top 25% with no minimum ACT/SAT score
26%-50% with 18 ACT or 960 SAT
51%-75% with 21 ACT or 1060 SAT
76%-100% with 23 ACT or 1130 SAT

Students may also be admitted solely on test scores* if they achieve the following scores:

  • Official SAT Scores: at least 480 for EBRW and 530 for Math
  • Official ACT scores: at least 18 English, 22 Reading, 22 Mathematics and 23 Science

*Students admitted on test scores alone must submit a high school transcript to be considered for competitive scholarship awards
