Canyon Attractions:
Palo Duro Canyon, the 2nd largest canyon in the United States, is just 12 miles east of Canyon. Palo Duro Canyon State Park has walking, biking and horse trails, camping sites, and the famous lighthouse rock formation.
The official State of Texas musical, TEXAS Outdoor Musical , is performed in the canyon's outdoor amphitheatre every Tuesday through Sunday from early June through mid-August.
Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum is the largest history museum in the state of Texas. Visitors can find Texas art, New Mexico and Southwest Native American exhibits, exhibits in paleontology, geology, archeology, automobiles, and even dinosours. The museum is located at 2503 4th Avenue.
