University Writing Center

The Writing Center serves as informed readers for University writers. Our purpose is to provide assistance for specific challenges encountered by writers and to promote good writing across disciplines. In addition to proofreading for errors, we can provide feedback and guidance. No need to make an appointment with us because we accept all walk-ins! The Writing Center also offers brief presentations about services and grammar workshops for classes, campus organizations, and clubs.

Online Tutoring Option

The Writing Center has an online tutoring option available to students taking online classes. This includes strictly online students who do not reside in the Canyon/Amarillo area.

This option is not available to students who take classes on-campus or students enrolled in both online and on-campus courses.

We typically review online papers within 1-2 business days. However, we only review papers Monday through Friday. Any papers submitted Friday afternoon or over the weekend will not be reviewed until Monday or Tuesday.

Online students may submit their papers for review through our online form. On the form, please upload your paper in a Microsoft Word format. We will then review your paper and contact you via email.

Have a struggling student? Refer them to the Writing Center! We can assist students in a variety of different ways, including brainstorming, outlining, organizing ideas, and formatting. Please note that we do not contact the student. Once you complete this form, you are responsible for communicating your expectations of attendance to the student.
