Cooperative purchasing

Education Code Title 3, Subtitle A, Chapter 51, Subchapter A, sec. 51.9335 allows for higher education institutions to use group purchasing programs to procure goods and services.  Also known as coops or cooperatives these entities have bid out goods/services and awarded contracts.  These contracts are available for the university to use.  Utilization of cooperatives is encouraged and can facilite the purchasing process.

State Contract & TXMAShttp://www.txsmartbuy.com/  Individuals will need to enter the city before proceeding to the next page.  This is a website that departments could search and browse contractor e-catalogs for price and product information and also uses their comparison tool as well to find the best price and value for their money.  All state and TXMAS contracts are accessed through this portal. These are contracts negotiated by the State of Texas.
