Professional Profile:
Laura Wagner joined the WTAMU College of Nursing and Health Sciences in 2022. She received her nursing diploma from Covenant School of Nursing, graduating as class valedictorian in 2017. She obtained her BSN from Lubbock Christian University in 2018, and her MSN in Education & Leadership from Lubbock Christian University in 2021. She also became a Certified Nurse Educator through the National League for Nursing in 2023.
Mrs. Wagner has previous experience in Surgical ICU and Concierge Primary Care nursing.
Teaching and Related Service:
Mrs. Wagner has taught Evidence-Based Practice, Nursing Concepts, Health Assessment, Pharmacology, and both undergraduate and graduate-level Pathophysiology. Mrs. Wagner is a clinical instructor for Junior 1 nursing students at a local hospital.
Mrs. Wagner serves the Laura & Joe Street School of Nursing as an academic advisor, an American Heart Association Basic Life Support instructor, and she serves on various departmental committees.
Mrs. Wagner is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing Delta Delta Chapter, the American Nurses Association, the Texas Nurses Association, and the National League for Nursing.
Research and Creative Activity:
Mrs. Wagner's recent research interest involves the use of evidence-based teamwork tools with beginner nursing students to improve clinical communication.
