What To Bring To Camp
Listed below are some helpful suggestions:
CONCERT ATTIRE:
- Sunday Best - remember that you will be performing for an audience, so dress accordingly!
MUSIC STAND:
Camp students are required to bring/acquire their own portable music stand. You will use this for all rehearsals, classes, and private lessons. WTAMU Band & Orchestra Camp will not provide stands. At camp, you may purchase a stand at Tarpley Music located in N-1020. Be sure to have your name on the stand and carry it with you at all times. It might be useful to have a backpack to keep your things together.
INSTRUMENT:
Students must bring their own instruments in good and working condition. If you play a school-owned instrument during the school year, you will need to make arrangements with your band or orchestra director to check one out with them for use at Band & Orchestra Camp. WTAMU Band & Orchestra Camp will not provide instruments. A luggage carrier or dolly can be useful for transporting large instruments. We will provide lockers for euphonium and tuba High school players (you MUST bring your own combination lock). Junior high euphonium and tuba players can leave their instruments in their rehearsal locations.
Trap set players who are selected for a jazz band and bring their own instrument will be awarded a $100 scholarship which will be credited after the start of the camp. Commuting All-State and Honor campers are not eligible for this scholarship.

Lockers will be available in Northen Hall on a first-come, first-serve basis for medium to small instruments (flute, oboe, clarinet, trumpet, alto saxophone). You must bring your own combination lock. WTAMU Band & Orchestra Camp will not be responsible for stolen items from lockers without proper locks.
High School euphonium and tuba players will have lockers assigned first. We will also assign as many other large instruments as possible (i.e. trombone, french horn, bass clarinet, bassoon, tenor sax, bari sax). Those assignments will be in your registration packet on registration day. Junior High euphonium and tuba players can leave their instruments in their rehearsal site or dorm room. JH rehearsals are located on the East end of campus and not near the lockers.
