The choral department at West Texas A&M University provides all students on campus with an enriching ensemble experience. It is comprised of three choirs; the Chorale, the Collegiate Choir and the Chamber Singers. These choirs present approximately six major concerts per year, and often perform collaboratively with the WTAMU Symphony Orchestra. Programming includes music from historical eras as well as a variety of contemporary and popular styles. All ensembles are open to WTAMU students through an audition, which may be arranged by appointment with the Director of Choral Activities.
The Chorale is the flagship choral ensemble within the West Texas A&M University School of Music. The group is widely known throughout Texas and the United States for its high standard of performance. In 2016, the Chorale performed for the Texas Music Educators Association convention. Annual tours are part of the experience of singing in the Chorale.
The Collegiate Choir is a large mixed choir, similar in scope to the Chorale. A Collegiate Choir member can expect to perform in all major concerts on campus, including the collaborative concerts with the WTAMU Chorale and Symphony Orchestra.
The Chamber Singers is a small mixed ensemble which performs a variety of literature within classical and popular styles. The group performs for campus events and local schools, and tours regularly with the Chorale.
