Professional Profile
Lopez joined the music faculty at WTAMU in 1991. He earned his bachelor's degree in music from the University of Connecticut and Master of Music from Yale University in 1989. He also earned a Certificate in Performance from The Juilliard School of Music in 1990.
Teaching and Related Service
Lopez teaches cello and chamber music at WTAMU.
Research and Creative Activity
His research and creative activities include performing baroque-styled music (Bach unaccompanied cello suites) and recording contemporary music for string quartet as a member of the Harrington String Quartet. As the Harrington String Quartet cellist, Lopez has recorded The Harrington String Quartet: Daniel McCarthy on Albany Records. He also has been featured in the Naxos label production of Samuel Jones Cello Sonata with pianist Denise Parr-Scanlin.

He lives in Amarillo with his wife Eleonora and their two children, Susie and Daniel.
