Professional Profile
Krause holds the Bachelor of Music degree in oboe performance, the Master of Music degree in theory and composition, and the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in oboe performance from University of Miami in Coral Gables, Fla. He is professor of oboe at West Texas A&M University and spends his summers teaching oboe at the Interlochen Arts Camp in Interlochen, Mich.
Teaching and Related Service
He has played principal oboe in the Hollywood Philharmonic, Northwest Louisiana and Roswell Symphonies, English horn in the Miami Philharmonic and Fort Lauderdale Symphony, and oboe in the Mostly Mozart Orchestra and Fort Meyers Symphony.
Research and Creative Activity
In addition to teaching the oboe and all of its related fields such as reed making and repertoire, Krause also teaches music theory, music literature, opera history and is the director of the Matilda Gaume Early Music Consort. He also serves as an Advising Fellow in the University's Student Success Center.
Personal Sketch
Krause also is an active composer and arranger of double reed music. Many of his works have been performed at the Interlochen Center for the Arts and at Texas area venues.
