Professional Profile
Dr. Kelly Evans is an elementary/general music education specialist and a former public educator. She has worked with both elementary and middle school populations teaching general music and chorus. She holds a BA in Vocal Performance from High Point University and an MME and PhD with a college teaching certificate in Music Education from Florida State University.
Teaching and Related Service
Dr. Evans taught in K-12 schools in North and South Carolina before earning her doctorate. She is Orff Level 1 certified. She teaches bagpiping, voice, and piano privately.
At WTAMU, she teaches Elementary Music Methods and Music in the Americas.
Research and Creative Activity
Dr. Evans's research topics include the experiences of elementary educators, motherhood and higher education, best practices for mentorship programs, and the intersection of motherhood and musical careers. She has recently been published in Florida Music Director.
