Degree Plan
3-Year Program of Studies for Each Track
The Ed.D. 60 hour program of study introduces superintendent certification courses and "environmental" courses that address the settings in which a rural administrator works. During the first summer, there are opportunities for international immersion experiences. In year two, methodologies and additional knowledge courses are provided. In year three, candidates will implement the knowledge they have gained to write two scholarly deliverable manuscripts. Rural school immersion experiences of discovery learning will be offered throughout the progression of the program.

Immersion Experiences
Immersion experiences will be held each long semester at the WTAMU Canyon or Amarillo Center campus. Candidates are encouraged to participate in each immersion experience. Experiences will include an orientation, writing seminars to help candidates craft scholarly deliverables, and an international experience during the first summer. Other immersion experiences will be flexible depending upon the needs of candidates. We anticipate that the orientation seminar will be held on a weekend within the first four (4) weeks of the spring 2019 semester. When emergencies occur that prevent participation, candidates should contact the program director.
