Professional Profile
Dr. Eichler joined the Department of Life, Earth, and Environmental Sciences in August 2024. She received her B.S. in Geoscience from the University of Arizona and a Ph.D. in Geoscience from Texas Tech University in 2020. She was previously a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Houston (2020-2021) and a field geologist for the Oklahoma Geological Survey (2021-2024).
Teaching and Related Service
Dr. Eichler teaches physical geology. She is the faculty advisor for the WTAMU Geology Society.
Research and Creative Activity
Dr. Eichler’s research combines sediment provenance, detrital zircon U-Pb geochronology, and petrography with application to basin formation and related sediment processes. Her current research projects include the provenance and distribution of Cenozoic sediments in the southern and central High Plains, and the effects of flat slab subduction on basin formation and sedimentation during the Late Cretaceous in the western United States.
