Advising
In Texas, there are currently two educational routes leading to eligibility for credentialing:
- Completing a bachelor's degree inclusive of requirements for eligibility to sit for the Texas Athletic Training Licensing examination to be credentialed by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
- Requirements include coursework in human anatomy, health/nutrition/emergency care, kinesiology or biomechanics, exercise physiology, basic athletic training, advanced athletic training, and therapeutic modalities or rehabilitation along with a minimum og 1,800 apprenticeship hours, orver no less than five academic semesters.
- Students may complete this at WTAMU; see Athletic Training degree information.
- Complete requirements of accredited Master's in Athletic Training Program.
Students matriculating to a Master’s program must hold a Bachelor’s degree and meet the individual admissions professional program requirements. Students should consult advisers for proper course selection. Professional school admissions officers make final decisions regarding entrance requirements to their respective schools.
