Academic Advising
Are you ready to become an Academic Adviser? Academic advising is more than simply helping students choose courses and complete understand graduation requirements. Students come to their advisers seeking help for a wide range of concerns from planning next term's schedule, to finding alternative majors, and a variesty of personal challenges. In addition to serving students, Advising Services also has resources to help faculty and staff with academic advising.
It is important to be attentive to what the student is saying and also to non-verbal behaviors that may indicate that the student needs additional resources. If you feel like the student could benefit from additional student support, please contact Advising Services at 806.651.5300 or the Student Success Center at 806.651.CARE (2273).
