Professional Profile
Truitt is an internationally award-winning choreographer and a Fulbright Senior Specialist. His creative work has been performed in the U.S., France, Japan, Italy and throughout Russia from St. Petersburg to Krasnoyarsk (Siberia). Truitt joined the WTAMU faculty in 2003. He received a master’s degree in dance from the University of Oregon (1996) and a B.F.A. in theatre/dance from the University of Nebraska (1979).
Teaching and Related Service
Truitt teaches ballet technique, jazz dance technique, choreography I, dance history, senior concert, partnering, Somatics (Yoga), and practicum. In the past he has taught every course in the dance program at WTAMU except Tap.
He is a member of Counseil International de la Danse, CORPS de Ballet International, Phi Beta Delta, Alpha Psi chapter, National Association of Schools of Dance and the American College Dance Festival Association.
Research and Creative Activity
Truitt choreographs professionally for stage, film and television, and for universities and various dance companies. Currently in the process of creating a new professional dance company ERTDance.

July 2017 Presented workshops in Dance and Yoga for Dancers at the International Dance Festival, Open Look as well as at Russian Look in St. Petersburg Russia. Presented workshops in Dance and Yoga for Dancers at Samos Academy in Samos Greece.

June 2005 Truitt's "Kinetic Ties" was awarded first place for best contemporary ballet and second place for best overall choreography at the Grand Prix Italia International Dance Festival in Cesena, Italy.
In July 2004 Truitt was invited to present his original ballet "Energy Unbound" in St. Petersburg, Russia. The trip was the subject of a documentary film "Dancing in Russian Air" which aired regionally on PBS.
In June-July 2003 Truitt was invited to present his original work "Misguided Faith…" at the Krasnoyarsk Ballet Opera House and in St. Petersburg, Russia at the International Festival of Dance, Open Look.
