Housed within the Department of Art, Theatre and Dance, WT's Art + Design Program educates students in the synthesis of critical thinking, communication, and creative practice. Our goal as teaching artists and historians is to facilitate strategies for success in diverse fields of the creative and visual arts that extend to lifelong learning.
Our area strives to provide both a fertile and challenging environment for aesthetic and critical engagement, innovation and the technical skills necessary for the practice of art and design in the changing landscape of the twenty-first century. We encourage and believe that students should utilize many resources both within and outside the university to inform and deepen their artistic vision.
We believe that the arts can make a difference on the local, national, and international level, and that the arts play a vital role in the future of innovation.
