Taken from Greek mythology, Phaedra is a tragedy based on her life and those who surround her. Phaedra is a queen that is torn between right and wrong and passion and reason. Phaedra fell in love on her wedding day, but it wasn’t to her husband but her stepson Hippolytus. Since that day, she has struggled to maintain her role as wife and mother and put those feelings aside. Then, news arrives one day that her husband, Theseus, has been killed. Phaedra’s loyal servant, Oenone, encourages her to declare her love for Hippolytus. It is here where the lives of those surrounding Phaedra will never be the same–for this action creates unstoppable repercussions that twist the fate of the characters into the hands of the gods.
