2.36 | Unauthorized Areas
2.36.A | Unauthorized access to university facilities, entry into or use of university premises without permission, unauthorized entry into another person’s residence, vehicle or business, and unauthorized entry into maintenance rooms is prohibited. Building roofs and exterior walls are considered restricted university property and are off limits to students. If something is lost on a roof, contact an area office to have it recovered.
2.36.B | Multiple-occupancy Private Spaces: Multiple-occupancy private spaces, such as locker rooms, changing rooms, shower rooms, and bathrooms that accommodate multiple occupancy use, must be designated by a single sex and will be equipped with appropriate signage. The use of a multiple-occupancy private space by an individual whose sex is opposite to the sex-designation of the private space is prohibited. Unless the use meets an exception or an accommodation outlined in this Handbook.
- Exceptions: Certain individuals may enter private spaces designated for the opposite sex for the purpose of:
- Providing custodial services;
- Performing maintenance;
- Inspecting facilities;
- Providing medical or other emergency assistance, which includes medical assistance provided by athletic trainers, team physicians, or other medical personnel designated by the institution to provide such services;
- Assisting an individual who needs assistance using the facilities;
- Performing law enforcement duties;
- Rending assistance to prevent a serious threat to order or safety.
- A child nine (9) years of age or younger when accompanied by an individual caring for the child.
