Reporting Requirements

Includes changes to the following:

• Email Address
• US Phone Number
• US Physical Address
• US Mailing Address
• Home Country Address

If you travel outside the US, you will need to notify our office.

If you wish to return to the US, you will need to submit a Travel Request form through your International Student Portal. You will need page 2 of your I-20 signed by a DSO to be able to return to the US.

If you will not return to the US, you will need to submit the Leave of Absence/University Withdrawal form through your International Student Portal. This ensures that both your academic and immigration records are properly maintained.

If you will not be able to take the required 12 credit hours (undergraduates) or 9 credit hours (graduates), you are required to obtain Reduced Course Load authorization, listed on page 2 of your I-20.

Also known as a Program Extension. Your I-20 can never expire. If your I-20 will expire at the end of the semester or in August for Spring semesters, please be sure to request a Program Extension at least 3 weeks before your I-20 expires. This ensures that our office has enough time to process the extension before your I-20 expires.

Once your I-20 expires, we cannot extend your program.

You are required to notify our office when you graduate. This is so that we can properly maintain your immigration status. This includes Completing your program in the SEVIS system.

Failure to report graduation to us could result in negative immigration consequences, both now and in the future. It is extremely important that you update us when you graduate.

Any time that you wish to transfer to a different US institution, whether that be before you complete your degree, after you complete your degree, or during/after OPT, you will need to have WT transfer your SEVIS record to your new school.

This includes any changes to dependents. Per the federal regulations, dependents include qualifying spouse and child(ren).

• If you will bring or add a dependent
• If you need to remove a dependent
• If any information of the dependent changes, including
  • Legal Name
  • School attendance
  • Address changes
  • And more

This includes any disciplinary action taken by WT through Student Conduct, Student Affairs, or other official action taken by WT.

This also includes any legal action, such as an arrest, court case or appearance, or other official legal action.

Please note: reporting disciplinary or legal action does not necessarily negatively affect your immigration. However, in order to properly maintain your immigration status, you are required to report any disciplinary or legal action to a DSO.
