Students may apply for a short-term loan (often called an "emergency loan") to cover the costs of tuition, fees, and/or books in advance of final processing of Financial Aid or availability of other personal resources. The interest and fees is minimal; for example, a $1,500 loan for up to 90 days incurs roughly an additional $18.

Follow these easy steps to obtain short-term loan assistance directly from West Texas A&M University:

1. Log on to Buff Advisor.Go to www.wtamu.edu and click on the Registration (Buff Advisor) icon under Student Links

To access Buff Advisor, use the first initial of your first and last name, then your student ID number (Buff Gold Card number) leaving off any leading zeros, and your password. Example: aa123456If you forget your password or have difficulty with access contact the IT Help Desk at 806-651-4357.

A short-term loan can be useful when the funds aren't immediately available, but will be within a few weeks or a few months. We hope this is helpful.
