Unexpected costs and needs can cause significant stress and impact on your academic success and personal well-being. West Texas A&M University has a variety of programs and services available to support currently enrolled students.
Financial Resources
Financial Aid
Students may apply for a short-term loan (often called an "emergency loan") to cover the costs of tuition, fees, and/or books in advance of final processing of Financial Aid or availability of other personal resources. The interest and fees is minimal; for example, a $1,500 loan for up to 90 days incurs roughly an additional $18. For more information contact:

Emergency Funding
Emergency Funding was created to help students with financial assistance in a serious time of need. This fund is intended to be a supplemental financial resource when students are unable to meet immediate and essential expenses because of a temporary hardship. In order to be eligible for Emergency Funding they must have exhausted ALL other financial resources, INCLUDING loans and scholarships.
Please click here to complete the application to receive consideration. You MUST have a Scholarships application on file to award any emergency funds. Applications are reviewed once received, but can take up to a week for processing.
If you have any questions, please email Becky Warren at rwarren@wtamu.edu, including your Buff ID.
