In 2020, we saw technology rise to the forefront of our work lives and few were left unscathed by this paradigm shift. This reality forced many of us to put on our “adaptability pants” and adjust to a life of virtual work. I don’t know about you, but my adaptability pants did not always fit as well as I hoped they would!
The great news is that you and I now know that technology is an essential skill in most any industry (especially these days!) so we can plan ahead. There are a number of ways that you grease up your technical gears for the world of work and they don’t always involve spending money. A simple search on YouTube can provide you with most everything you need to know about Premier Pro, Photoshop, or other design software. Think about it, when an employer asks you in an interview, “how did you spend your time in quarantine?” You can honestly say “I used that time to gain skills in video editing that would allow me to be a more qualified candidate for your position.” Now that is a pretty impressive response and you are that much more prepared to stepped into a technology heavy role! #WINNING
Invest your time in developing skills that you need in your industry. The tools are readily available and often time at no or little cost. Another great resource we suggest is LinkedIn Learning. You can also maximize your YouScience results and find creative ways to advance what you are naturally good at doing.
