Professional Profile
Dr. Shrestha received a M.S. in Chemistry from Pittsburg State University in 2007 and a Ph.D. in Chemistry from University of Arkansas in 2013. Her dissertation was based on development of methodology with application to natural product synthesis. After completing a year of postdoc, Dr. Shrestha joined Kansas Polymer Research Center and the Department of Chemistry at Pittsburg State University in 2014 as a research scientist and as adjunct faculty. Dr. Shrestha had an opportunity to work on various projects, which utilized bio-based materials, in collaboration with industrial partners.
Teaching and Related Service
Dr. Shrestha currently teaches Organic Chemistry I, II and Elemental Organic Chemistry at WTAMU.
Research and Creative Activity
Dr. Shrestha's research interests include bio-based materials, methodology, and multi-step organic synthesis. She has had a number of publications in peer-reviewed journals such as Journal of Organic Chemistry, European Polymer Journal, and Journal of Polymer and Environment.
