Research Assistance
Need help with your research or citation review? We provide research and citation assistance both in person and virtually.
The Access Services Desk provides users with the means to borrow library materials. This includes checking out and returning library-owned and interlibrary loan items.
Undergraduate checkout of Cornette Library materials:
Check out up to 100 items for 21 days each.
Your items will renew automatically up to 5 times until the end of the semester.
Graduate checkout of Cornette Library materials:
Can check out up to 100 items for an entire semester with no renewals
Online/Distance Students
In addition to the above check out limits, Cornette Library will deliver library-owned or Interlibrary Loan (ILL) items to you through the mail. Simply place an Interlibrary Loan request and indicate within the notes that you're an online/distance student.
Amarillo Center
In addition to the above check out limits, Cornette Library will deliver a book we own to the Amarillo Center via the University Courier. Fill out this form to Request a Library Book via this service.
Student must have WTAMU or other legal identification to receive the item from the Amarillo Center office.
RELLIS
RELLIS students enrolled in a WT course have full access to the Cornette Library and its resources.
If you are a RELLIS student, you may order books and articles from the Cornette Library through Interlibrary Loan. We will send your items to the RELLIS library via TExpress courier.
Checkout period and penalties for overdue material will be determined by whether you are an Undergraduate or Graduate/Doctoral student. Check out the Borrowing Policies page of our website for more information.
Book Delivery Policy
If you are an Online/Distance or RELLIS student you can have books mailed to you through Interlibrary Loan. If you attend classes at the Amarillo Center you can have books delivered to the Amarillo Center Office.
Items must be something that can be checked out:
Loan books.
Youth books.
Government Documents that circulate.
Items found in Course Reserve, Reference books, and Special Collections and Archives cannot leave the Library.
For Online/Distance and RELLIS students, please allow 1-3 weeks for items requested through Interlibrary Loan to arrive.
Processing of items to be delivered to the Amarillo Center will take 1-2 business days depending on the time we receive the request. Items are only delivered to the Amarillo Center once per week, so picking your items up at the Main Campus may be faster. Amarillo Center students return items to either the office at the WTAMU Amarillo Center or to Cornette Library.
Online/Distance students can return items either via mail or in person to the Cornette Library.
RELLIS students return ILL materials to the RELLIS library and they will send them back to the Cornette Library.
Interlibrary Loan
Need a book or article we don’t have here? We can usually borrow items for you from another library through Interlibrary Loan. All current WTAMU students can use our ILL services.

Technology
When you come to the library, you will have access to all the technology available below.
Windows PCs.
Apple iMacs.
Buff Print stations you can use to print your 3,000 pages per semester.
Document scanners for free document digitization.
Photocopying available for 10 cents per page.
Microfilm/fiche readers.
Leisure Reading and Movies
The Library has print books and physical DVDs for leisure reading and viewing. For eBooks, audiobooks and streaming movies, please try the databases Overdrive/Libby and Films on Demand.
Citation Management Software
The Library provides access to Endnote, which you can use to organize and automatically create references and citations for your sources. This service requires the creation of a personal account.
