SGNL 1301E. AMERICAN SIGN LANGUAGE I
Introductory course to American Sign Language (ASL). Includes finger spelling, vocabulary, basic sentence structure, history, Deaf culture, current trends, principles of linguistics and grammatical structures. Basic expressive skills using the manual alphabet, numbers, and signs prepare students to communicate on a basic level with Deaf individuals. 3 credit hours. Offered face-to-face on campus only.

Continuation of American Sign Language I. In-depth expressive skills to increase fluency, build on previously learned vocabulary, and use complex sentence structure to prepare students to communicate with Deaf individuals. 3 credit hours. Offered face-to-face on campus only.
