Upward Bound

WTAMU Upward Bound (WTAMU UB) is an academic and college preparatory program funded by the US Department of Education. The purpose of WTAMU UB program is to develop the skills and motivation necessary for students to successfully complete high school and to enter and succeed in college.

Mission

The mission of the WTAMU UB program is to provide fundamental support, motivation, and opportunities necessary for participants to successfully complete high school, and pursue and complete their postsecondary goals.

Services Offered

Upward Bound offers the following services to program participants:

Academic skills development through class instruction and tutoring
Student advising
Career and college major exploration
Financial Literacy workshops and activities
College entrance exam preparation
Assistance in accessing financial aid opportunities via the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and scholarships
Development of interpersonal and life skills
Parent/Family engagement via workshops and resources surrounding financial literacy, preparing to have a child in college, general information about attending college, etc.
