Exam Schedule

The American College Testing (ACT) Exam is offered through Testing Services on the nationally-scheduled dates.

Registering for the ACT

Students wanting to take the ACT through Testing services will need to register through the ACT website and select West Texas A&M University as their testing site.

Be sure to read the What You Need to Know for Test Day site to see what you need to bring with you on the day of the exam and what items are not allowed for the exam.

CLEP (College-Level Examination Program) is the most widely accepted credit-by-examination program in the nation. With CLEP, a student can earn college credit for what he or she already knows -- regardless of where or how that knowledge was acquired -- by passing a 90-minute, multiple-choice CLEP subject exam.

Who is Eligible?

Prospective students, students who have been accepted for admission, or students who are currently enrolled at WTAMU are eligible to register for CLEP testing.

Before registering to take a CLEP exam, please meet with an advisor to ensure that you are maintaining an acceptable level of credits needed for the current semester and that test results do not affect any standing with scholarships or the university.

Costs

For each exam, there is an exam fee and an administrative fee.

• EXAM FEE:­ The cost of the CLEP Exam is $95. This fee­ will be due at the time of registration. Do not combine fees for multiple tests even if they are to be taken on the same day. Each exam must have a separate payment. Credit cards are the preferred methods of payment. American Express, MasterCard, Visa, Discover, and JCB are accepted. 
  
  
• ADMINISTRATIVE FEE: A non-refundable administration fee of $25 for each exam is due at the time of registration. This fee must be paid using a credit or debit card.

Exam Schedule and Deadlines

CLEP exams are administered according to the scheduled test dates. Application forms and fees must be submitted by the indicated registration deadline.

Registering for a CLEP Exam

1. Go to https://clep.collegeboard.org/.
2. Click on Register for an Exam.
3. Select the exam you wish to take from the list and choose to Register (Add to Cart).
4. Choose to Checkout and then to Register and Checkout. You will be able to create an account at this point if don't already have one.
5. Complete the purchase process for your exam. Print out the form with the ID number and ticket number. You will bring this form with you on the day of your exam.
6. Complete the CLEP Registration Form for WT by the registration deadline of your preferred testing date.
7. On the day of your exam, bring your form from Step 5 and a form of photo ID with you to Classroom Center 108.

Credit by Examination Policies

• Credit by examination is equivalent to passing the corresponding WTAMU course. A letter grade of "S" is assigned if the student achieves the required score. The course does not figure into the student's GPA.
• The student is responsible for completing the tests for lower level courses in sufficient time to qualify for enrollment in higher-level courses.­ Be aware that the process of awarding CLEP credits to your transcript is not immediate and may take up to two months to occur.
• Credit by examination may be used to satisfy only 6 of the last 30 hours counted towards a degree.
• Six hours of appropriate science credit by examination may be used to satisfy the laboratory science requirement. (Does not satisfy the 12-hour elementary education requirement).
• If a student fails to pass a CLEP test, the test may be retaken after a three-month waiting period.
• Credit will not be awarded until the student has successfully completed one fall or spring semester at WTAMU.
• WTAMU does not accept the general exams of CLEP. No essays are required.
• Credit by examination may not be earned for courses in which a student received a grade, including an "I."

Exam Schedule

The HESI A2 Exam is proctored through Testing Services at 9:00 am on the scheduled testing dates each semester. Registration must be completed by the indicated deadline for your test date. 

Cost

The cost of the exam is $70. The payment for the exam must be made online.

Once a payment is paid, a seat is reserved. NO REFUNDS FOR CANCELATION.

Registration Form

Please complete the HESI A2 Exam Registration Form before the registration deadline shown on the exam schedule. Students need to register for the exam in advance due to limited seating.

If for some reason this online registration form does not work, students may register by visitng the Office of Orientation and Academic Success in Classroom Center 108.

Check-In

Check-in will begin 30 minutes before the exam is scheduled. The exam starts promptly at 9:00 am.

Accommodations

If requesting accommodations for this exam:

• Student must be registered with the Office of Student Accessibility to receive accommodations.
• The Office of Student Accessibility testing hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm.
• Once you have paid and scheduled your test date, you must submit a COMPLETED Testing Accommodation Form to the Office of Student Accessibility at least two business days prior to the exam.

Registering for the Exam

The Office of Orientation and Academic Success is not able to provide practice test approvals for undergraduate students. Please contact Robin Johnson (rjohnson@wtamu.edu) in the Office of Educator Preparation for practice test approvals.

Be sure to register using the Practice Exam Registration Form.

In-Person Testing

The TSIA2 may be taken in person through Testing Services on Monday-Friday from 8:30am-2:30pm.  Please check with our office by phone (806-651-2341) or email (educationalservices@wtamu.edu) to confirm that a day is available, as our testing center may be full or unavailable to give exams on certain days and times. You may also check our social media pages (Facebook and Instagram) for updates on closures due to holidays.

On the day of your exam, come to the Testing Services front desk in Classroom Center 108 with a photo ID and a debit or credit card.

Cost: $15 per portion of the TSI. This cost will be paid by debit or credit card.

Online (Remote) Testing

You may also take the exam online. You will need to complete the TSI Remote Voucher Registration Form. Please allow 1-3 business days for your Remote Voucher to process.

Your online exam will be proctored by Meazure. Please be sure to use the links below to check that your computer meets the system requirements for both Accuplacer and Meazure.

Cost: $10 per part for the voucher fee. Meazure Learning charges $28 for proctoring an exam. Meazure charges an additional fee if an exam is scheduled within 72 hours.

Retrieving TSI Scores

The Accuplacer Student Portal can be used to access your TSI score report and send your scores to institutions.

Testing Services will administer other examinations for students and non-students, such as certification exams and correspondence exams for other universities. A set administrative fee is paid for each proctored exam.
