Professional Profile
Mr. Kennedy joined the Sport and Exercise Sciences Department within the College of Nursing and Health Sciences in 2024. He was previously at the Texas A&M RELLIS campus as an instructor/program recruiter in WT’s Department of Health Sciences from 2022 to 2024. He received a B.S. in Kinesiology from CSU Fullerton in 2015, an M.S. in Sport and Exercise Sciences from West Texas A&M University in 2021, and is currently completing his Ph.D. in Strength and Conditioning at Concordia University St. Paul. Mr. Kennedy is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, Strength and Conditioning Coach certified through the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association, and an Advanced Sport Performance Coach through USA Weightlifting as a USAW level 2.
Teaching and Related Service
Mr. Kennedy teaches undergraduate Strength and Conditioning and Personal Fitness Concepts. He is currently developing a CASCE Accredited undergraduate Strength and Conditioning major through the National Strength and Conditioning Association for the Sport and Exercise Sciences Department.
Research and Creative Activity
His research interests include acute and chronic neuromuscular response to fatigue, neuromuscular adaptations to strength and power-based training, and hip extensor muscle mechanics for sport performance. Mr. Kennedy has had his research published in Sports Biomechanics (please italicize) and the International Journal of Strength and Conditioning (please italicize) .
