MEMBER BENEFITS
Ranges from $1,200 - $30,600 total depending on service term and hours selected. Paid in monthly increments and not classified as a salary or wage, but designed to support members' living expenses during their service year.
Members earn the Segal AmeriCorps Education Award at the end of their service term with successful completion of service hours. Can be used to pay for educational expenses or student loans and must be used within seven years.
Hands-on experiences and trainings help members who are figuring it out or looking to grow new skills. Service is also a networking opportunity for members to meet active community members and other professionals.
Members must:
- Be a U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, or lawful permanent resident
- Be 18 years or older (no upper age limit)
- Pass criminal history background checks, including National Sex Offender Public Registry, felony crimes, and an FBI fingerprint check
- Be located in the Texas Panhandle during time of service
- For select service sites, members must have completed at least some college
