Dyke and Terry Rogers

In May 2014, Dyke and Terry Rogers graciously donated $1 million dollars to enhance and further develop the LEAD (Leadership Education And Development) WT program. This gift and their example will go a long way toward helping WTAMU become a leadership institution, where leadership theory, practice and service will play a major role in the life of the campus. More importantly, their gift allows them to have a concrete and significant influence in the lives of WTAMU students and future leaders. We are extremely excited to have their leadership displayed throughout the LEAD WT program, positively affecting faculty, staff, student, and community leaders.

Dyke and Terry Rogers

The generosity and spirit of giving modeled by Dyke and Terry Rogers will allow a select and deserving group of WTAMU students the opportunity for leadership development. The LEAD WT Program was created to challenge high achieving students to further develop their leadership potential.  This program includes three main areas: academic, student service, and real world application. In the academic portion of the program, students will complete significant academic coursework to learn about leadership theory.  The second component of the program is student service. Students will make a difference in our local area by working in groups to solve a problem or work on a significant project for a local non-profit organization.
Students will also present at the annual Leadership Summit. This is a critical part of the program and philosophy of LEAD WT as it develops servant leadership in students. The LEAD WT program also includes real world application. Students will complete an internship experience and will participate in activities such as an etiquette dinner, networking events, and public speaking opportunities.
