Allen Henderson

Allen Henderson, a track runner from San Antonio, Texas, is working on his digital communication degree with many other passions he is pursuing. Allen transferred from a university in Kansas to West Texas A&M University for a fresh start. He described WT as “bringing the energy” during the campus tour. Allen earned a spot on the WT track team as a decathlete, so he runs, jumps, throws, and hurdles. With all the work he must put into his sport, studies can become challenging, but Allen says, “student comes first in student-athlete.” Allen also expressed he has received countless support from his professors and coaches to be the best student-athlete at WT.
Through digital communication, Allen has found a love for photography. He finds joy in taking photos and hopes to keep expanding his photography skillset. In addition to his digital communication degree, Allen is working towards his EMT certification, which would be the next step for him to move to a big city where he can make a difference in the lives of those around him. While these passions are in different fields, Allen is striving to be the best person he can be and challenging himself by setting new daily goals.
