CANYON, Texas — Potential students looking to expand their career possibilities in highly in-demand fields can explore their options at a pair of upcoming virtual open houses.
The Paul Engler College of Agriculture and Natural Sciences will host two events: Agricultural Sciences at 6 p.m. Aug. 2, and Natural Sciences at 6 p.m. Aug. 4.
Registration deadline is July 29 for the first event, where students will learn about WT’s competitive graduate programs in agriculture, animal science and plant, soil and environmental science.
Registration deadline is Aug. 2 for the second event, where students will learn about the University’s competitive graduate programs in biology, environmental science and interdisciplinary studies in professional chemistry.
“The air we breathe, the water we drink, the food we eat and the clothes we wear all impact the lives of our families, our communities and our world, and by pursing graduate studies through our College, students can become a part of creating healthy, thriving communities,” said Dr. Kevin Pond, dean of the Engler College of Agriculture and Natural Sciences.
Potential students also will learn about funding opportunities, including scholarships and federal need-based aid, as well as admission requirements and how to apply for upcoming terms.
Those who register by the deadlines have the chance to win an application fee waiver from the WT Graduate School.

Quality programs are the cornerstone of the University’s long-range plan, WT 125: From the Panhandle to the World.
That plan is fueled by the historic, $125 million One West comprehensive fundraising campaign. To date, the five-year campaign — which publicly launched Sept. 23 — has raised about $110 million.
