CANYON, Texas—The West Texas A&M University Distinguished Lecture Series and Department of Communication will host bestselling author Erik Qualman, who will speak on “The Power of Focus: Stepping Into Your Story” at 6 p.m. Feb. 23 via Zoom.

Qualman is recognized as a top speaker on digital leadership and has presented in 55 countries reaching 50 million people. He was voted “2nd Most Likeable Author in the World'' behind J.K. Rowling, and his business books are used in more than 200 universities.

"Erik Qualman has written a lot of books on the new digital age and how communications needs to evolve with it,” said Mason Curry, senior public relations/advertising major. “He's also written about how now more than ever we have to be careful with what we post on the internet and how that can affect our lives, particularly when we search for jobs. I think these are very interesting subjects and with technology constantly changing our lives, we could all benefit from Qualman's insight on how we can keep up. On top of that, Qualman is just a great and entertaining speaker, so anyone would enjoy hearing from him.”
