CANYON, Texas—The Paul and Virginia Engler College of Business is pleased to announce the induction of students from West Texas A&M University into Beta Gamma Sigma for 2019. The ceremony is at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6 in the Jack B. Kelley Student Center, Legacy Hall. It will be streamed on Facebook Live for online students and their families.
Membership for the international honor society of Beta Gamma Sigma is the highest recognition a business student anywhere in the world can receive in an undergraduate or graduate program at a school accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).
Association is by invitation only for business students who have met explicit academic qualifications defined by the society’s Articles of Incorporation combined with chapter requirements relating to active leadership and/or service-learning. WT has been recognized by Beta Gamma Sigma for four consecutive years as a Highest Honor Chapter.
Dr. Kelly McCauley, assistant professor and Engler Professor of Management, serves as the chapter advisor. Student officers are Sara Koepp, president, Marc Ferrell, vice president, Eric Mesa, secretary, and Karlandria Edwards, treasurer. Dr. Nick Gerlich, Hickman Professor of Marketing, is the 2019 keynote induction speaker.
Dr. Neil Terry, dean of the Engler College of Business, is one of 14 deans from leading business schools around the world currently serving on the Beta Gamma Sigma Board of Governors. Dr. Marielle Heijltjes, Professor of Management at the University of Maastricht, is the current Beta Gamma Sigma Board Chair. Dr. Charles Whiteman, Dean of the Smeal College of Business at Pennsylvania State University, is the immediate past Beta Gamma Sigma Chair of the Board of Governors.
