CANYON, Texas—West Texas A&M University has been ranked among the 35 top value marketing online bachelor's degree programs and the 35 top value criminal justice studies online bachelor's degree programs for 2019 by Affordable Schools. The rankings were published on the organization's website in April. WT was ranked 25th and 27th, respectively.
These rankings were created using the National Center for Education Statistics' College Navigator database. The 35 top value colleges were selected and ranked based on average cost of attendance and student-to-faculty ratio.
Founded in 1910, WT is the northernmost senior institution of higher learning in Texas. Part of the Texas A&M University System, WT is a public university located in Canyon, Texas, about 13 miles south of Amarillo. The university offers 60 undergraduate programs, 38 master's degree programs, and two doctoral programs.
"We offer quality undergraduate, graduate, and professional level coursework in flexible, accessible online formats," Dr. Walter Wendler, president of WT, said. "We are excited to have two of our online programs included in these top value rankings."
WT confers an online Bachelor of Business Administration in marketing, a degree that is designed to be offered wholly online. This program is fully accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business and is recognized by U.S. News and World Report for their excellent undergraduate programs.
Students are met with a comprehensive curriculum that focuses on digital media and intercultural communications, two fields that are informed by each other. This degree requires students to complete a minimum of 120 credit hours of coursework, a capstone project, and a set of comprehensive final exams. Sample courses include Emerging Media Law, Digital Communications and Collaboration, and Current Issues in Management Communication.
WT confers an affordable online B.S. in criminal justice degree that has been nationally ranked by U.S. News and World Report. It is offered entirely online with no residency requirements. Students will benefit from small class sizes, individualized attention, and a full suite of online features. Students will be required to complete 120 credit hours of coursework, a capstone project, and a comprehensive final exam. Sample online courses include Public Personnel Administration, Principles of Emergency Management, and Introduction to Criminal Justice.
