CANYON, Texas—The West Texas A&M University SIFE (Students In Free Enterprise) Team is gearing up to help 'can’ hunger in the Texas Panhandle with a food/fund drive March 9-10 as part of their participation in the "Let’s Can Hunger Challenge."
WTAMU’s SIFE Team is encouraging students and local residents to support its food/fund drive by bringing a sturdy bag filled with non-perishable foods such as canned soup, canned vegetables, pasta, rice or cereal to the Jack B. Kelley Student Center on campus or by making a donation to the High Plains Food Bank. All proceeds will benefit High Plains Food Bank.
"Let’s Can Hunger Challenge," sponsored by Campbell Soup Company, is a competition that provides SIFE teams with the opportunity to participate in a series of objectives including Urgent Hunger Relief, Lasting Hunger Relief and Hunger Awareness.
SIFE is an international non-profit organization that works with leaders in business and higher education to mobilize university students to make a difference in their communities while developing the skills to become socially responsible business leaders. SIFE teams are active on more than 1,300 campuses of academic institutions in 41 countries.
