Application Requirements

• WTAMU Graduate School application
• Official transcripts showing an earned bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution and graduate coursework (if applicable) completed.
• Overall undergraduate GPA ≥ 3.0
• Two-page essay addressing the following:*
  • What are your education and career goals?
  • How will an Interdisciplinary Studies degree help you meet these goals?
  • What two or three disciplines will you study?
  • What specific learning outcomes will be achieved through this program?
• Students must meet full admission requirements for each individual area selected. This varies for each master’s program and may include the GRE/GMAT.

* This essay will also be treated as a formal writing sample. The quality of the writing will be considered in the admissions decision.

• Statement of goals for pursuing a graduate business degree

  • In a paper no longer than five (5) pages, please identify what you believe is the most pressing problem of practice facing rural school leaders today. This problem can be at the EC-12 area or higher education. Identify your second and third considerations (please name those problems and identify their components) and tell us why you discarded those choices to focus on the problem you chose as the most pressing problem. In other words, explain your rationale for selecting that one problem of practice rather than the others that you rejected. Share with us how you, if you were an administrator confronted with this problem, would go about solving this most pressing problem of practice.
  • The resulting paper should be from one to five (1-5) pages in length and should be formatted with 1” margins, 12 point font in Times New Roman, and double spaced.

Admission Requirements

• WTAMU Graduate School application
• Official transcripts showing an earned bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution and graduate coursework (if applicable) completed
• Overall undergraduate grade point average (GPA) of ≥ 3.0
• Bachelor degree in art or related field. Must have completed a minimum of 36 undergraduate credit hours in art at an accredited institution
• Submit a 500- to 700-word letter of artistic intent, discussing your artistic practice, why you would like to study at WT, and your intentions and goals while you are here (.pdf format)
• Submit a digital portfolio consisting of 10-20 images of your artwork (less than 20 MB; .pdf or .ppt format); or a link to a website with your art work. Make sure all work is labeled with title date, medium, and dimensions, either on slides and/or on a separate image list
• Submit a current CV, including contact information of three academic and/or professional references (.pdf format)
• Interview with the major professor of the prospective student’s intended studio
• Students should not apply to the M.F.A. program in studio art unless they have completed a minimum of thirty-six (36) undergraduate hours in art at an accredited institution
  • Applicants who do not meet this requirement may be required to take undergraduate leveling courses and/or demonstrate a significant artistic practice

• Verification of current CPR certification and required immunizations, including Hepatitis B 
• Contact information for two (2) (non-academic) clinical supervisory references
  • This must be accomplished in a timely manner, so that responses from references can be included in the Committee's consideration
• A written goal statement that will be evaluated based on:
  • Clear focus related to a goal statement
  • Supportive detail regarding the goal statement
  • Organization of goal statement (clear introduction, body and conclusion)
  • Clarity, grammar and punctuation
  • Goal statement is typed with a word count of between 500-750 words
• Phone interview with the Associate Department head for Nursing Graduate Programs or a designee once application paperwork is complete
